discme takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. We keep things simple: we collect only what we need, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
discme is operated as a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR and data protection law, discme is the data controller responsible for your personal information. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at legal@discme.app.
When you take the discme assessment, we collect your responses to the assessment questions and the results they generate. If you choose to save your results, we collect the name and email address you provide. We also collect standard technical information that most websites collect automatically — such as your browser type, device type, and general location (country level) — through our hosting and analytics providers. If you use Ask discme, your chat inputs are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) in order to generate responses.
We process your assessment data and results on the basis of legitimate interests — specifically, to provide you with the core functionality of the app. We process your email address on the basis of your consent, given when you choose to save your results or sign up for updates. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us.
We use your assessment results to generate your profile and power the features of the app — including the relationship overlay and growth content. If you provide your email address, we use it to send you your saved results and, if you opt in, occasional updates and weekly nudges related to your profile. We do not use your information for advertising purposes and we do not sell it to third parties.
Ask discme is powered by Anthropic, a third-party AI provider. When you use Ask discme, your messages and your DISC profile type are transmitted to Anthropic's systems in order to generate a response. We do not send your name or email address to Anthropic. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy and terms of service.
We retain your assessment results and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you have not engaged with discme for a period of 2 years, we may delete your data. If you request deletion of your data at any time, we will action that request within 30 days.
discme uses your browser's local storage to remember certain preferences — including your remaining free credits and whether you have acknowledged the age requirement for Ask discme. This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
discme uses minimal cookies required for the app to function. We may use analytics cookies to understand how people use the app so we can improve it. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies that follow you across other websites.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to withdraw any consent you have given at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at legal@discme.app. If you are based in the UK or EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
discme uses a small number of third-party services to operate — including hosting and analytics providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by appropriate data processing agreements. We do not integrate with advertising networks or data brokers.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
